Nearby sync was fine and last used on 06 Nov 17. I wonder if an upgrade to iOS on one of the devices has messed it up, so I report all here to see what you say.

iMac OS High Sierra 10.13.2 rebooted, running TapForms 5.2.4, can see the iPhone under preferences/sync/nearby (green button) BUT file/sync is always greyed out.

iPhone 6s 11.1.2, running TapForms 5.2.3(791) rebooted, has the iMac in its nearby sync list but it shows red button all the time.

I guess the iMac can see the iPhone TapForms is turned on but the iPhone app won’t complete the hand shake?

    Thanks

The Sync Now function on the Mac version will never be enabled for Nearby sync because Nearby sync just happens automatically.

If you get the red dot, just remove that entry and re-add it.

    That should hopefully fix it.

    Thanks,

Oh thanks Brendan, worked instantly when I added the iMac as a new sync device. I now realise it’s because the iMac keeps renaming itself name (1), then name (2), etc.

Can’t see how to delete the old device, but not an issue.

You can delete an old device by swiping your finger across it to the left on the iOS version. On the Mac version there’s a [-] button that will delete the selected device.

There must be a conflict on your network with device names causing the device to get renamed.
