    Hi
Just started using this to backup to a different location during the day. Problem is each time I backup Tapforms quits and I have to reload to carry on working. Is this expected behaviour?
    Cheers…

    Hi Tony,

No, this is not the expected outcome.

Tap Forms is simply zipping up the .tapforms document into a zip file.

Do you have a crash report you can email me please?

    Thanks,

    Brendan

Sorry Brendan, wrong terminology, not QUITS but rather goes back to the unlock screen waiting for a decryption password for an encrypted file.

That’s actually normal. Because Tap Forms closes the SQLite database file, then makes the backup, then closes the document and re-opens it, thus asking you for the encryption key again. I had to do this because to get a proper backup of the SQLite file, it must be closed. And to re-open it properly after that, I had to close the whole document window and re-open it.

Thanks for the info, a slight slowdown in workflow, but no problem.
Cheers and have a good break!

    But..
I have backup on quit checked. If I make a change and do a manual backup to an external hard drive location, TF saves and closes. I re-enter the decryption key. I make no further changes and quit TF. No backup is made to the default dropbox location sat in preferences. I guess because of no change being made. Means I cant backup the same identical data file to two different locations?
