    Hi
On my mac the db size is 25mb. On my iPod documents and data for TF is 75.1mb? Is this right? How can I reduce the size of the iPod DB? I think I may have asked to keep a local copy on the iPod when resetting sync last time. I do have about 50 photos in my DB of about 1mb each…
Should have said – I only use docs & data in the cloud for TForms – nothing else!
    Help much appreciated
    Cheers

    Hi Tony,

you are right, it’s all about the local files. Just use the tools on both devices to shrink the databases.
    preferences, maintenance.

    Hi Leo
Thanks, but I have run all maintenances on the DBs on all my machines, still got the local files showing on TapForms on iPod. If the local files are still on my Mac, why the difference in size still. Will keep digging!

There’s a difference between the database file size that you see on the Database Maintenance screen and what iCloud Drive is telling you. The database file is not stored in iCloud. It’s stored on your local device. It’s called TapForms_db.sqlite. It’s also possible that there are different block sizes on the devices which may influence the file size.

In order to make enough room on my 16g iPod I am trying to prune items for install of IOS 8.??? 5gb needed free!!!!!
Is there a way I can remove the photo files from the iPod and just have them in the cloud?

    Hi Tony,

Sorry, I’ve been away from the forums for a few days working on the 3.0 manual, bug fixing and just working on a performance upgrade. So I’ve been slow to reply here.

You can use iTunes to install the upgrade and that will take less space than if you do it via the Software Update function on the device.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

Sorry to be slow Brendan, but there is no update listed for TF in IOS and would that get rid of all the photo files?

Sorry, I thought you were asking about upgrading iOS 8. Tap Forms 3.9.2 is the latest released version. Are you trying to get rid of the Tap Forms photos from your device? You could always use iTunes File Sharing to delete the Photos folder from your device if that’s what you really want to do. But then you’d lose your photos. So you should make a backup first and copy the backup to your computer or upload it to Dropbox.
