scneophyteParticipantI had a few databases open and then went to the main TP5 screen and created folders and moved the databases around.
Now when I closed/reopened those databases they are blank! No forms no records, nothing.
I didn’t have backups turned on for these two databases…any chance of recovery??

scneophyteParticipantThey still have some data in them; they are 1.7MB and 384MB.
Other databases that were not open at the time of the move are okay.

scneophyteParticipantHere’s a screenshot of a working db (top) and one that isn’t (bottom). There are icons associated with the top one but not the bottom one.
The screenshot doesn’t show it but it’s the same for the db.sqlite3; no icon for the bottom one but one for the top.

scneophyteParticipantJust FYI that I worked with the dev via email and, strangely enough, my data was still there on his version but not mine.
He sent me back a TF archive and I was able to recover my data.
Please everyone: backup your data! Shame on me…
Can I just say how cool it is that I had multiple responses, the first only minutes after sending my initial email

BrendanKeymasterThis was definitely a strange one. The file I was sent looked perfect.
One thing that I was going to also try suggesting is to follow this procedure to reset the preferences in Tap Forms 5:
- Quit Tap Forms 5.
- Launch the Terminal application in your Utilities folder.
- Copy the following command to your clipboard:
defaults delete com.tapzapp.tapforms-mac
- Paste it into the Terminal window.
- Press the
Return
key. - Launch Tap Forms 5 again
Perhaps that would have also solved the problem. But I’m not sure though because I wasn’t able to reproduce that problem.

scneophyteParticipantI hate having to say this but, at some point today, even the ones that were empty last night showed the data again. Really weird. Glad I made that video showing they were empty.
I didn’t do anything special, except follow the directions to import the archives.
