Hi everyone, first time poster here (be gentle with me), I am in the process of compiling a local history database. Some of the records contain numerous images and I would like to add a source field individually to each one of these images. Is there an easy way of achieving this? I do not want to use the source info as the image title. Ideally what I would like to happen is that when I click on an image and it opens, that the source info is displayed along with it.

    Many thanks

    Hi Ken,

I’ve been meaning to allow you to type in a note along with a photo at some point. Just hadn’t gotten around to doing it. I actually have a notes field in the database ready to store that information. Perhaps I’ll bump that up in my development plans since someone is asking for it now. I had always intended on adding it to the Media browser window.

In the meantime, if you want, you can create another form that just stores your photo, along with a field for your notes and then link that to your original form by adding a Link to Form field. Then you would have a list of linked records showing the photo and note. Although the thumbnail for a photo in a linked form is quite small.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

Thanks Brendan, I had considered creating a custom layout with a notes field alongside/attached to my default layout. Thank you for your suggestion re the link form idea.
    Regards
    Ken
