This is my first day using TapForms so sorry for the stupid question. Can you only have 1 link to another form within a form? I created forms for each month. Each form tracks sales of 10 products in 2 shops. I wanted to get a year total, so I tried to create a year form and link the monthly forms into it. Worked for the first month – but when I linked the other months, it wiped out all the records in my monthly forms!
Hi beachgrrl,
Well, if you have one-to-many Link Types, then a record can only be linked to one of those at a time. What you would need is a many-to-many Link Type.
See if that works for you.
Thanks!
Brendan
Thank you Brendan,
I tried with many-to-many links and it still wiped out the records on the form I was linking to. Also it doesn’t save the records in the form I created the link fields in. There must be something I am missing….
Or there’s something wrong.
Would you be able to email me a backup of your database document? Send it to support@tapforms.com
Just selecting records from a child form shouldn’t wipe out those records that you’re linking to.
Well this is what I was thinking – it should at least warn you! File sent.
Thank you,
Joan
Just to update anyone else that comes across this thread, the issue was that the First Sort Field was not set on most of Joan’s forms, so Tap Forms wasn’t displaying the records within them. Setting the First Sort Field to something allowed the index to be rebuilt and the records then appeared.
