Peter HawkeyParticipantHello,
Is it possible to show custom layouts on iPad or iPhone? If so, I’m struggling to work out how.
Cheers
Peter

BrendanKeymasterHi Peter,
Custom layouts are only available on macOS.
Thanks,

Peter HawkeyParticipantThanks again Brendan for the prompt reply. This is something of a breaking point for me I’m afraid. I need to use TapForms extensively in the field with iPad and iPhone and would need to modify the interface to make it easier to use.
The programme is great, but the shortcomings are just a little too much for me. Will I have the opportunity to cancel the payment after the free trial ends?
Regards
Peter

Of course. You can cancel at any time.

Do have any near-future plans for enabling custom layouts on iOS.

BrendanKeymasterYes I do. But it won’t be exactly like the Mac version. That code is too tightly integrated with macOS APIs. But I have come up with another method for custom layouts on all platforms using SwiftUI. But it’s still a work in progress. I was going to release it with Tap Forms Pro in the beginning, but I wasn’t happy with how it worked and performance was not good, and things also kept changing with the SwiftUI APIs and macOS & iOS updates that made things randomly not work here and there, so I put it on the back burner to be revived at a later time.

Bill FlynnParticipantThanks Brendan,
That’s great to hear, you’re making a fantastic app even better.

timzuParticipantHi. It’s approaching a year since TFP was released. I’m just wondering how the custom layouts for iOS are coming along? It’s pretty much the thing keeping me from upgrading to TFP.
Thanks.February 4, 2026 at 2:47 PM #53537
BrendanKeymasterFunny you should ask. After finishing up the new Cloud+ Sync service (waiting for Apple to approve it), I just jumped back into custom layouts on iOS. Once it’s a bit more along than it is now, I’ll send it to my beta testers to take a crack at it. It will most likely be a feature that evolves over time and won’t be as full featured as the default layout initially.

Ran WhiteheadParticipantI recently shared a form with another user using MacOs. They can see my layout, but there is no data in the fields. The default layer works as expected. Is there something I’m doing wrong in my sharing with another user.
