    Hi,

I’m a new user. I’m looking for a list of keyboard shortcuts. Am. Missing it?

    Thanks,
    Tom S.

    Hi Tom,

There aren’t any keyboard shortcuts other than what you see in the Menubar items at the top of the screen.

    Thanks!

    Thanks, Brendan.

I’m quite enjoying the program. If you don’t mind it, I would like to suggest that a few keyboard shortcuts be added. The reason may not be obvious. I’m an AppleScript guy and, although Tap Forms doesn’t support it, one easy thing you can do with any program is simulate keystrokes. If it has a keystroke or a menu item you can automate it.

A good example of something that would benefit from menu access is iCloud sync. This, of course, allows you to set a keyboard shortcut yourself or to use AppleScript to access the menu.

A good example of something that could use a simple keystroke: when editing a form you can highlight fields with a series of tabs but, for instance, you can’t currently open a note field after the icon is highlighted.

Assuming you are using XCode, this seems like a relatively simple addition that would enhance the program.

    Keep up the good work,
    Tom S.

    Hi Tom,

Version 2.0 will have the iCloud settings available in a menu item, so you’ll be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to that.

Good idea about the Note field.

Strange, but I thought I already answered this post. But it didn’t show up.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

Oh, right. I think that was because I answered it in the UserVoice feedback system.

Yes, I thought it more appropriate to put it under the feedback/suggestions.

Funny that I picked on of the few functions without a menu item. Looking forward to 2.0 to see what else is arriving.

    Thanks,

    Tom S.

Lots of goodies. About 7 new features. But a couple are big ones.

Please, please, please add keyboard shortcuts and context menus … for everything, really, but I’d start with “Edit pick lists.”

    Thank you!

And please add context menus, as well. They are present in every Mac program I have ever used, and they are expected. Their absence in TapForms makes the program (which is EXCELLENT, by the way) seem “unfinished.” I would be happy to help with suggestions for what should appear in the context menu, and I’m sure other users would help as well. Thank you!

    Have mercy, Brendan!

    Text menu with inconsistent shortcuts

    Hi Frances,

Ok. I know what happened. When I added a command for “Copy Record Link”, I used “command-option-c”. That overrode the default shortcut for the “Copy Style” command.

I’ll have to change the one I’m using for “Copy Record Link” then.

Looking for the keystroke to edit a cell when in multi-column view so I don’t have to continually have to use the cursor. thank you Jack

    Hi Jack,

I’m not sure what you mean so you don’t have to use the cursor?

If you have a cell selected on the multi-column list view, you can just start typing and Tap Forms will put whatever you type into the cell.

You can also press option-return to have the insertion point go to the end of the text in the cell.

For example, the keystroke for editing a cell in Excel of Mac is Control + U. Save a click.

Ok, well option-return has the same effect in Tap Forms then. And you can also just start typing without having to double-click in the cell first.
