GlobiParticipantHi there
I use TFP on all my devices, Mac, iPad, and iPhone. So far, everything works great, including synchronization via iCloud. But there is something I don’t understand and have not been able to solve so far. I have a shopping list that I use in the supermarket. I deselect all the food that ends up in the shopping cart, and they then disappear from the list. So far, so good. Then I continue and put the iPhone into sleep mode. When I wake the iPhone up again, I can see my shopping list again. However, only sometimes, often TF is closed and I have to open it again. I have disabled Auto Sync, but the behavior is still not understandable to me. I would like TF to remain active and to show me the list again when I wake up the iPhone. What am I doing wrong, or what do I need to do to make it work like that?
Any help would be very appreciated, thank you.

PS: Sorry for my poor English, I hope you still understand what I mean.December 10, 2025 at 11:41 AM #53351
BrendanKeymasterHi Globi,
It’s possible that your device ran out of memory and purged Tap Forms from memory if you were opening other apps after that. So Tap Forms would start again just be re-opening the last document that was opened.
It won’t go back into the form upon re-opening. Although I would like to see if there’s a way I can get it to do that.
Thanks,
Brendan

Thank you for the answer. I understand your point, but it’s a bit scary for me. I only open the Tap Forms app, no other app (I’m one of the people who always close all apps completely after use). Despite a hint, I will check how large the Tap Forms file is, maybe it is too large? I still use an iPhone 12 Mini, could that be the reason, does it have too little performance?
Cheers

BrendanKeymasterSo Tap Forms is one of the apps you always close completely after use? If that’s the case, then it won’t re-appear in the same spot after you’ve force quit it.
I don’t know how much internal memory the iPhone 12 mini has, but it could be an issue.

GlobiParticipantHi Brendan
Thank you very much for your efforts. Of course I don’t close Tap Forms while I’m shopping, but I don’t have any other apps active. That’s what I meant, sorry if I described it in a misleading way. The procedure is as follows:
[wake up the iPhone, start Tap Forms, select File and Filter, go shopping, deselect food items in Tap Forms, send the iPhone to sleep, wake up the iPhone, … Tap Forms is sometimes gone, sometimes not].
But then it probably has to do with the ‘old’ iPhone, which is probably the most likely explanation.
Anyway, thank you for your support. And the app is still great, I use it daily for various things, almost indispensable.Greetings,
