Is there a way to use the number field type to enter an IP address? I originally confirmed my form for the IP address field type as a number but it does not recognize it as a number format and when the record is recorded it leaves the entry blank. If I use it as a text field it will save the IP address. Is there any way to customize the number field to recognize the format for an IP address? It is so much easier using the number pad for the entry versus having to use the keyboard layout.

    Thanks!

    Hi Michelle,

For an IP address you’ll need to use a Text field type because a Number field type cannot have more than one decimal point, but a Text field can.

On the iOS version you can even select the Number Keypad to use for a Text field so even though you’re using a Text field, you still can tap onto the number keypad including entering in multiple decimal points.

    Thanks!
