    Hi,
i’m a new user. I have this question:
I created a New Form with the import csv file.
I edited this form (delete and add some fields ).
Now I want take this form updated. Sometimes I want import another version of the file csv with some new records and/or difference values (like an update).
If I try re-import I have the duplicate-actions on all the records.
    Have I any solution ?

Tnx and sorry for my english

    Hi Luca,

You would need to export your data from Tap Forms and then edit it outside Tap Forms, then re-import your data to get an update. But only if you also have the Export Record IDs function enabled on the Import & Export Settings screen.

This is because Tap Forms will add a form_record_id column to your CSV file that will contain a unique ID for each record. When you import a file with that column, Tap Forms will look for existing records with the same ID internally in order to update them. If it finds them, it updates them, if not, it adds a new record to the form.

So that’s how you can avoid duplicates when you re-import.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

    Hi Brendan,
    tnx for your answer.
I tried your solution but my problem it’s the same.
I had export the records with all the fields with the EXPORT RECORD IDs included.
I had modify the csv file with new records and any rows udpdated. The file had form_record_id as a first column.
I had import the file into my FORM but I had not a syncronization, I had a duplication.
The new records was all empty record.
The old records had a new field ‘form_record_id;Copertina’.
‘Copertina’ is the first field of my form, it’s an image’s field.

This is an example of the csv file i try to import:

    form_record_id;Copertina<photo>;objectname<text>;objectid<number>;rating<rating>;numplays<text>;own<text>;fortrade<text>;want<text>;wanttobuy<text>;wanttoplay<text>;prevowned<text>;preordered<text>;wishlist<text>;wishlistpriority<text>;wishlistcomment<text>;comment<text>;conditiontext<text>;haspartslist<text>;wantpartslist<text>;collid<text>;baverage<text>;average<text>;avgweight<text>;rank<text>;numowned<text>;objecttype<text>;originalname<text>;minplayers<text>;maxplayers<text>;playingtime<text>;maxplaytime<text>;minplaytime<text>;yearpublished<text>;bggrecplayers<text>;bggbestplayers<text>;bggrecagerange<text>;bgglanguagedependence<text>

    Where is my mistake ?

    Tnx in advance,

    Hi Luca,

Did you make sure you set the Column Delimiter setting to semi-colon ; before you imported? Not having the Column Delimiter setting set correctly would definitely cause this problem.

    Thanks,

    Brendan
