I set up a Cloudant standard account and can sync up/down from my MAC but when I try to sync my iPhone and iPad it only allows me to download the DB and gives me a error of

    “Synchronization has failed”
“Error sending to server.: the request entity is too large”

Why does it allow me to upload from my MAC but not my iOS devices?

That message means you have a photo or file attachment or your record size is too big for Cloudant to handle. You’ll have to reduce the size of the photo or file attachment or record to below their thresholds.

Is it already an exact copy of the document from the Mac version? Or did you recently take a photo in a record on the iOS version? If so, try setting the Photo Size smaller on the Photo field and try syncing again. You may need to delete and re-select the photo.

    Thanks,

Its the exact same file. I used the mac to upload it then downloaded it to the iOS devices. When I tried to re-sync I got the error. Do iOS devices upload the entire DB at once or each record one at a time like the MAC version?

    Hi Clinton,

The iOS devices use the exact same code for syncing as the Mac version.

I’m not sure what would cause it to fail on iOS though unless there was a larger photo on the iOS version than the Mac version.
