I just bought 5.1 on ipad. Upgraded to 5.1 on Mac. Can someone tell me how to do nearby sync or icloud sync when the document doesn’t exist on the ipad?
I have thirty minutes before i leave for the aiprot or I would do more digging on my own
I have no idea if I did it correctly but was able to send the document to my ipad using the Share button.
Then I checked that the database identifiers are the same now on each copy…and it is definitely syncing!!

But basically when you enable iCloud sync on one document on one device, your other devices should automatically add an empty placeholder document with the same filename as on the document you enabled iCloud sync for. Then when you open that placeholder document, a few moments later it will start to sync.
But you can also use the Send Document function as you did too.
