John HamillParticipantI am having trouble with the list view on iMac. Refer to enclosed screenshots. One “date sort” displays the date in group form while another date sort does not. Any reason for this? One of the dates is a “date time” type while the other is a ‘Date modified” type. I have tried using the “group by”, But this does not group the dates either. Dates do not appear in the “Group by” list, so that’s out. Any ideas? Seems a pretty basic function. Thanks for your help. Regards. —

John HamillParticipantJust a follow-up on this. Some dates are “group displayed” displayed while others are not as this screenshot demonstrates. Attachments:You must be logged in to view attached files.March 3, 2025 at 8:58 AM #51681
Daniel LeuParticipantThis grouping is called sections and can be enabled when clicking on the icon on the top right of the record column. Attachments:You must be logged in to view attached files.Cheers, Daniel ---

John HamillParticipantThanks for the reply. Yes, it is enabled. On the third screenshot, this “grouping” does (eventually) appear. But for the first 96 records (in this particular database), no grouping appears when the date is a “Date” type. Any reason you can think of for this? If it was working properly, shouldn’t there be a “group date” at the top of the list (before the ‘July 2023’ group)? Regards. March 3, 2025 at 2:57 PM #51685
Daniel LeuParticipantI looked at some of my forms and there’s a section at the very top. Can’t think of anything why it doesn’t work like this for you. Something for Brendan to comment on. Cheers, Daniel ---

John HamillParticipantThanks. I went and checked another couple of my databases and they work okay (something I should’ve done in the first place, I suppose). So there’s something specific to this one database – I’ll have to do a bit more investigating, and then probably contact Brendan :-) Thanks for your assistance.
