HiBrendan,
I have been using iCloud sync. A Photo field and a Note field won’t sync to my iPad. I tried removing the database and re-sync. I tried deleting and re-installing the app. But the problem persists.
No problem on my Macs and iPhone.
What could be wrong and what can I do?
Database size: 160 MB only.
The form has ~3100 records. Photos are GIF images.
Thanks!
Alan
What if you change the name of the field or a small property detail.
In my experience, it takes a long time for iCloud to fully sync itself, especially if you are an image/attachment heavy document like it sounds you are.
What I used to do on earlier versions was make sure the iPad was set not to lock/sleep itself (under Display and Brightness in Settings), launched Tap Forms and then let it sync overnight whilst connected to power with the backlight all the way down. That seemed to be the most reliable way to ensure everything was sync’d on a device when using iCloud. I much prefer CouchDB sync these days, since I run the server local to my network it’s always going to be faster than iCloud which I think also rate limits transfers as well.
Ya, you could also do as John suggested and try making a small change to the fields that aren’t syncing. Such as renaming them or changing the label colour. That will trigger a sync of the fields.
Works like a charm! (Making small changes to the fields.) Thank you everyone!
