I’m a new Tap Forms user, coming from Bento, and I’m in the process of importing all my Bento work over. I have several smart collections that make use of the “any” filtering option, which would be like doing an OR search between fields in Tap Forms. I’m using this with check boxes and list selections.

I’d really like to be able to use OR in Tap Forms. Otherwise I will need to have several saved searches that represent one smart collection from Bento. Please consider adding this feature. This is the biggest gap I’ve encountered on my porting effort from Bento, so far.

If there is another way to do this, please let me know.

    Hi Linda:

In an earlier post regarding Boolean searches, Brandon wrote:

“…Searches across fields are always ANDed, so it narrows down the result set the more rules you add.
If you want to do an OR search, you can do that within a single field by putting the keyword OR (must be uppercase) into the search term.

    For example:

Movie Title contains Terminator OR Hunger

The search rule value after selecting Movie Title and the contains operator would have just the value “Terminator OR Hunger” (no quotes).

    Thanks,

    Brendan”

Maybe that will get you over the hump?

Oops: I wonder how many times I’ve spelled Brendan wrong. I didn’t get one vowel right tonight. Sorry Brendan.

    Hi 1Levite,

Thanks for this; it does get me over the hump. I’d still like to see the search across rules, as Bento had, which was a cleaner way for me to do this, but I was able to use a workaround with this. Thank you!

    Linda
