I am currently running TF (latest OS & iOS versions). My database document is not encrypted. If I want to encrypt it, do I just enter the same password on both devices – with iCloud sync still running, or is there more to it? I have searched but can’t seem to find anything. The manual does not go into any great detail.

Well, I’d wait for sync to complete before you encrypt the database documents. Tap Forms will close and re-open the document after you’ve encrypted it. And it’s best to let sync complete before that happens. Not to mention that sync writes to the database and you don’t want active encryption going on while sync is trying to write to the database. Just wait until the activity spinner stops in the status bar.
But ya, just set the password on it and tap the Encrypt button. You can even have different encryption passwords on each copy of the document if you want. That makes no difference.
