Hello!
I am using TapForms 3.0.2 on Yosemite 10.10.1 and am now stuck when opening the app.
I’m asked to enter an encryption key that the app doesn’t seem to recognize. I have followed the procedure described under the following thread https://www.tapforms.com/forums/topic/set-encryption-key-not-working-on-mac-3-0/
but to no avail.
Any idea on how to solve the problem?
Thank you very much in advance.
Hi Stephanie,
Can you check the Keychain Access application to see if there’s an entry for Tap Forms there and then double-click on it. Then click on the Show password checkbox to view your current encryption key. That’s the value that Tap Forms is looking for.
Thanks,
Brendan
Thank you Brendan.
I followed your instructions but I still get an error message saying that the encryption key is invalid.
I really can’t figure out why. Any clue?
Thank you very much in advance.
Stéphanie.
Hello Stephanie,
So you entered the same key that was in Keychain Access and it still won’t take it?
I would recommend restoring to a recent backup file if you have one. Do you have one?
You may need to use Time Machine and restore the TapForms_db.sqlite file which is located here on your hard drive. The ~ is your user’s home folder. Your Library folder may or may not be visible, but you can use the Finder’s Go to Folder command under the Go menu to copy and paste the following path:
~/Library/Containers/com.tapforms.mac/Data/Documents
Thanks,
Brendan
