If I encrypt a database on my Mac and I’m using Cloudant for syncing, does the database that is stored at Cloudant get encrypted? If not, how secure is our data there?
The data is encrypted during transit, but you’ll have to ask Cloudant to see if the data is encrypted at rest. I never got a solid answer on that one. One person said yes, the other said no. So I’m not sure. It is IBM and IBM is a big company, so I would think their policies would ensure their customer’s data is safe.
