Database size upper limit?

Is there an upper limit for database size (and is there a difference between TF5 and TFP)? I’m a bit wary of the database size doubling with nearby sync in Pro. And currently tripling because I switched from none to nearby to iCloud to get the database on my other devices. (Doing the in-app transfer from 5 to Pro from within 5 never worked for me (databases too big?) which is why it’s taken me this long to work on the upgrade.)

How big are your databases? I have some customers with databases in the gigabytes.

But with such large databases, comes large times for syncing.

The database will eventually reduce in size back to double when you have sync on. Tap Forms goes through a baselining process to amalgamate the data coming from multiple devices. So that’s why it would go even bigger than double, but you should see that gradually reduce in size.

The Mac version can handle much larger databases than the iOS version can due to the way memory works on macOS vs iOS.

After compacting in TapForms 5, I got my main database down to 5gb on Mac, though oddly it won’t go below 8-9gb on iOS (iPhone + iPad). I imported the 5gb database into Pro so at least that starts off on the smaller foot. But it’s my daily log so it’s going to keep growing!
