I want to create a call log that utilizes the contact information in the Contacts app on Mac. Is there a reasonable way to do this using Tap Forms?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Scott,

There are a couple of ways to do this. You can either use the Import Contacts function in Tap Forms 5 for Mac and have a copy of your contacts within Tap Forms. Or you can use the sample Clients form which has a Contact field that lets you select a contact from the Contacts app. It also has already a link to another form called Client Call Log that’s ready for you to use.

    Thanks!

    Brendan, thanks for the response.

I see how to use the “Contact” field type to extract the primary title of the contact (either Name or Company), but how do I populate other field (IE phone number, email address, etc)?

    Hi Scott,

Unfortunately there’s no function right now to pull out all the other values. Not with a Contact field. That’s just for clicking on to pull up the built-in Apple contact display popover to see the details.

The Import Contacts function on the Mac version will copy all that data into separate fields though.
