I have multiple forms that I want to combine with photos. Example: Document is “Clothes” and there are separate forms for “Tops”, “Bottoms”, “Jackets”. I want one form that contains all records with a field that designates whether it is a Top, Bottom or Jacket. The only way I know to do this is to make sure all the fields match (close, but I have some work to do) then copy the records over (or export & import). But, when I do this, the photos do not copy. Is there a better way?
Hi Martha,
If you export as a CSV file and tell Tap Forms to include the media, it will create a folder with the photos. Then, use the Import Records function and then select the Photos folder on the Import Records window. Find the folder Tap Forms made that contains the photos and then select the CSV file.
Then you can choose to import the records into the existing form.
You could also experiment by making a duplicate of your form so that the original form is left untouched. New in Tap Forms Pro when you choose to duplicate a form, it will ask you if you want to also duplicate the records too.
Thanks,
Brendan
It worked!!! Thanks so very much. I do not understand the magic that links the record with the photo, but I am a happy camper. I saw that media could be exported before, but never understood how it linked back up so I was always worried about messing up my document. But…with the form copy, I feel more confident – love this feature!!! Appreciate your help!!!!
Just noticed that the photo filename is in the field…not magic after all :) Still very cool. Thanks so much!!!
Excellent! Glad it worked for you.
