Damian GerowParticipantI’m acting as tech support for someone who’s trying to get iCloud Sync up and running between a handful of iOS devices and one OS X machine (the latter being temporary). So far, I’ve been using the trial version of the desktop software and the Lite version of the iOS software, but I just can’t figure out how to get iCloud Sync working.
In the desktop version, there’s only an option for Dropbox Sync. I believe this is because the trial version is only available from this site, and Apple has restrictions on iCloud Sync availability? So, if we purchase the app through the OS X App Store, there will be an option to enable iCloud Sync, not just Dropbox?
The more confusing bit is the iOS side: I just don’t see an option to enable, configure, or otherwise manage iCloud Sync on the device. In the ‘Tools’ menu, I see the beam option in the upper left, and then a listing of options: in the first section: About Tap Forms, Tap Forms Mac, Send Love, and Purchase Full Version; in the second: Customize Forms, Edit Categories, Edit Pick Lists, Backup & Restore, Web/FTP Settings, Import & Export Settings, Font Settings, and Security Settings; in the third: Switch Language, Tell A Friend, and Database Maintenance; in the fourth: Enable TextExpander and Get TextExpander.
I’ve confirmed that iCloud Drive is on (it’s updated to the latest version, since all devices are iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite), confirmed that Tap Forms LT is allowed to use iCloud Drive, and restarted the iOS device, but I still don’t see an option to enable iCloud Sync in the app.
What am I missing?

LeoParticipantI believe iCloud is disabled in the trail versions.

BrendanKeymasterHi Damian,
You’re correct. You can’t have an app sold outside of the Mac App Store that supports iCloud. So in the direct download version I had to take out that button. So if you require iCloud and can’t or don’t want to sync with Dropbox, make sure you buy the Mac App Store version instead of the direct download version.
Also the Tap Forms Lite version has iCloud disabled until you upgrade with the in-app purchase. Or you can buy the full version directly. Some people don’t like the “LT” to be in the file name after they’ve upgraded to the full version with the in-app purchase. There’s nothing I can do to change the app name after it’s been upgraded with the in-app purchase.
The Sync Settings screen will appear on the Lite version after the in-app purchase to unlock that feature.
Thanks!
Brendan
