I’m new to tap Forms so it’s probably me doing something stupid but I have a simple form with a simple calculation but it doesn’t appear to be working correctly.

I have two fields “Labor cost 1” and “Labor cost 2” that I want to have Tap Forms total up and put the value in another field, “Labor Total”. I have all fields set to number and currency. I added labor 1 and labor 2 to the formula in the edit formula window. In the Total Labor field I set it to calculation and set number format to currency and calculation type to total.

What happens is instead of totaling the two numbers that are in the Labor Cost 1 and Labor Cost 2 fields it brings both numbers in to the Labor Total field separated by a comma. For example: If I put $123 into Labor 1 and $456 into Labor 2 field, I get $123,456.00 in the Labor Total Field.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy,

What does your formula look like for the Labor Total field?

It should be something like this:

    [Labor cost 1] + [Labor cost 2]

Where you double-clicked on the “Labor cost 1” field, typed the + character, then double-clicked on the “Labor cost 2” field. I’m assuming you’re talking about the Mac version, but you didn’t specify so I could be wrong. For the iOS version, type it in exactly as above, or just tap on the field in the fields list to have Tap Forms insert the field name for you.

Also make sure you have the Result Type set to Number.

    Thanks,

    Brendan
