James MasonParticipantI am unable to have a calculated field in required sort position. It always shows as top of sort. Any ideas why and how to correct would be appreciated. Been using the app for many many years – love it.

BrendanKeymasterHi James,
Can you please send me a screenshot or two that explains where you’re seeing this issue? I’m not entirely sure which part of Tap Forms you’re referring to. It could be the First Sort Field popup you’re referring to. It could be the list of fields you’re referring to. It could be the field on the popover for the multi-column list view. Or the sort fields set for Saved Searches, and so on. There’s lots of places in Tap Forms where sort fields are used or displayed.
Just need a bit more information in order to be able to assist you more accurately.
Thanks,
Brendan

BrendanKeymasterHi James,
Ah ok. That makes more sense.
The Sort & Group Settings option is not for determining which fields show up on the records list view. That setting is to determine the sort ordering of the records within your form. Not the fields themselves.
Normally the ordering of the fields is determined by the list of fields on the Edit Form screen. You can drag them up and down to change which fields will display. There’s also a setting called “List View Fields” which is a number between 1 and 5 which determines how many of the first X number of fields will display on the records list view.
But you can also control exactly which fields and in which position they are displayed by tapping on the menu button at the top of the records list view and then tapping on
View Settings. From there you can enable or disable fields and drag them up and down to determine which position they’re displayed in (up to the maximum of 5 fields that are displayable based on the List View Fields setting).See my screenshot.
