John HamillParticipantTapform Mac 5 “expands” iMac Text Replacement “shortcuts” correctly. Tapforms Pro does not. Note that this is iMac shortcuts (see screenshot).
Regards.

John HamillParticipantUpdate: iMac Text Replacement “shortcuts” do work in both search boxes, but not anywhere else.

BrendanKeymasterDo you have Text Replacements enabled under the Substitutions option under the Edit menu in Tap Forms Pro?

LaurentParticipantHi Brenda,
I have the same issue as reported in my post last June, quoted here below :

Yes but sometimes it works and sometimes not. When not working, if I uncheck “text replacement” then it works until the next time, when I have to check it again and so on… Endless loop.June 30, 2025 at 8:49 PM #52559 REPLY | QUOTE

Hi Brendan,Thank you for the last updates.
On Mac 1.0.6, I still have the issue of test replacement not working OK, as described here above.
Any clue ?
Thanks a lot,

BrendanKeymasterIt turns out the Note field edit window wasn’t respecting that setting. But on custom layouts it was. I’ve just corrected that.

John HamillParticipantSelect this does not make any difference. Note that this function operated correctly in Tapform Mac 5.

BrendanKeymasterDoes it still not work in the latest Tap Forms Pro version?
November 10, 2025 at 12:35 PM #53190
John HamillParticipantYou ask Brendan, “Does it still not work in the latest Tap Forms Pro version?”
Well, Yes and No…
On the latest version v1.0.13 (Build 404), the iMac text replacement does operate correctly. However in solving that problem another problem has appeared. It concerns the “Display summary lines” setting.
I enclose two screenshots to illustrate the problem. My setting for “Display summary lines” for the field “Content Overview” is presently set to 10. In the version prior to v1.0.13 (Build 404), this displayed/operated correctly. In the latest version of Tapforms Pro however (should the number of lines exceed — in my case — 10 lines), the main record display appears as in screenshot, ‘main_record_display_1’. Where if the number of lines is less than — in my case — 10 lines, the main record displays correctly (screenshot, ‘main_record_display_2’).
Note that the size (number of summary lines displayed) of the field “Context” in screenshot, ‘main_record_display_1’ also seems to be affected where it is not affected in screenshot, ‘main_record_display_2’.
I have for the present reverted back to version v1.0.13 (Build 404) of Tapforms Pro where the main record display is correct (screenshot, ‘main_record_display_3’).
Regards,
John Hamill

BrendanKeymasterI’ve just fixed this issue. It was a calculation error in calculating the height of the bounding box for the Note field. It wasn’t taking into consideration the maximumNumberOfLines property.
