Hello! I’ve enjoyed using Tap and watching it grow over the last year or so. I now have a large database that I use for my home business and was wondering if there is a way to create a backup that is ‘browsable’?

In other words, a copy of my database that would be able to be independently opened from the current state (so that I could see/copy records from the older, ‘backup’ to the current iteration)?

    Thank you!

    Hi Diana,

Not at the moment, but what you can do is move the main database file aside and replace it with the database file from the backup and then browse that if you like. Then quit Tap Forms, replace the backup database file with the current one and then launch Tap Forms again. Don’t do any syncing though while you’re doing this.

The database file is called TapForms_db.sqlite and is located here:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.tapforms.mac/Data/Documents

I often have multiple database files I switch between for testing purposes.

    Thanks!
