Is there any way to set the background to a colour other than white? I get the ability to set the text and data to colours, but I’ quite like to set the background on the form as i think it makes the data stand out better?

    Roger,
    A suggestion:
In the layout edit mode draw a new rectangle, give it the desired fill and border color. Choose the ‘Layers’ tab at the right and drag the new ‘rectangle’ row to the bottom. Now it will be the background of all the fields and other items in the layout. Give it the correct size and there is your background.
    Does that work for you?

I am sure that would, why didn’t I think of it? Thank you sometimes it takes someone else to show you a simple way of doing it.

However I do think it might be a nice feature for the future…..

    Hi Roger,

One other thing is you can click the lock checkbox next to the layout object in the Layers list so that rectangle won’t move if you’re dragging things around.

    Thanks,

Ah that’s what that little checkbox is?

    Ok thanks.

What is the maximum size the rectangle would need to be so whenever I scroll to any part of the data it still forms the background?

    Screenshot shows the issue.

That depends on which “Design for:” setting you’re using. If it’s set to Screen, then it sizes according to the size of the window and can be virtually any size. If it’s set to Printer, then it’s whatever size you’ve selected for the Paper Size. If it’s set to Label, then it’s whatever the size of your selected label.

    Thanks,

    Brendan
