I’m using an Apple IPad Pro with the new Apple Smart Keyboard for iPad Pro. When I go into a field that is formatted for a number (say the entering the starting mileage in my Mileage Tracking Log form) the digital keypad always comes up. Even though I’m using the Smart Keyboard. This does not happen on any of my other fields. Is this a bug that will be addressed soon or is there a setting where I can turn this off?

The reason it’s doing this is because I have a custom keyboard for number fields on the iPad. This is because the number keyboard on the iPad isn’t laid out properly in a grid format, but rather laid out horizontally across the top of all the symbols and other characters. I just wanted the digits there, so made a custom keyboard for that. There’s no function to change that behaviour on the iPad right now, but I’ll see what can be done. Last time I checked there was no way to detect a hardware keyboard is available, so can’t change the behaviour one way or the other. But it was a while ago since I checked.
