Migrating from Tap Forms 5 to Tap Forms Pro has been made as simple as possible with the press of a single button once Tap Forms Pro is installed on your Mac and iOS devices.

There are two ways you can migrate your documents from Tap Forms 5 to Tap Forms Pro.

  1. Use the Send to Tap Forms Pro button on the Upgrade to Tap Forms Pro screen.
  2. Use the Export Tap Forms Archive function to create a .tfarc file of your forms and import that into Tap Forms Pro.

Upgrade to Tap Forms Pro

Select the Upgrade to Tap Forms Pro function under the Tap Forms 5 menu. It’s also available under the Help menu. This will tell Tap Forms 5 to display a screen that lets you see some of the new features in Tap Forms Pro along with a button that lets you install it if you haven’t already installed Tap Forms Pro or a button labeled Send to Tap Forms Pro if you have Tap Forms Pro installed already. Clicking the Send to Tap Forms Pro button will export your document as a .tfarc file, launch Tap Forms Pro, and import the archive to Tap Forms Pro. This function is available on both the Mac and iOS versions of Tap Forms 5.

Export Tap Forms Archive

To export a Tap Forms Archive (.tfarc) file:

  1. Click the File menu
  2. Click the Export item
  3. Click the Tap Forms Archive item

A window will display with a list of forms in your document. Click the checkbox button at the top right above all the other checkbox buttons. That will select all the forms. Now click the Export button and choose where you’d like to save the .tfarc file.

Once you have a .tfarc file, launch Tap Forms Pro and click on the Migrate Tap Forms 5 Archive button on the main Database Documents window. You will be asked to select a .tfarc file. Locate the .tfarc file you generated from Tap Forms 5 and click the Migrate button.
