Categories are another level of organization in Tap Forms Pro that allow you to group similar forms into different headings.
To access the categories screen, you can either:
- Click Tap Forms Pro on the menubar > Settings > Categories
- Click Tools in the menubar > Edit Categories
Adding and Deleting Categories
When you’re in the categories screen, you’ll add categories via the + button below the list of categories. Once clicked, Tap Forms will prompt you to enter a title; when you’re finished, press the Return key to save the category. To rearrange categories you’ve created, drag one above or below another. This change will be reflected in the Forms sidebar. There are two categories that cannot be deleted, but you can still move them up and down. The Tags category and the Uncategorized category. The Tags category is used to organize your tags under a common heading. The Uncategorized category is the category that all forms go into that haven’t yet been assigned their own category.
Next to the + button is the delete - button. Clicking it will delete the currently selected category after a confirmation alert message appears. This action will permanently remove the category from Tap Forms Pro, but will not delete the forms associated with the category. In the event of an accidental deletion, you can simply recreate the category and re-add the forms. The forms within the category will be transferred to the Uncategorized category.
After you’ve created forms, they’ll be added to the Forms List sidebar under the “Uncategorized” header.
When you have a form you’d like to add to a category, you can go about that in two ways. Either:
- Click on the Form button on the window’s toolbar to open the Form inspector panel. Below the name of the form, select your category from the Category popup button.
- Drag the form from one category and drop it into another on the forms list sidebar on the left.
