    Hello everyone,

I suffer from a medical condition named Ankylosing Spondylitis and need to find a way of logging daily info such as; hours slept, medication, daily diet, exercises etc

I then need to be able to search the data to see if there are any similarities that make my condition worse such as too much wheat in diet, a reaction to certain type of exercise etc

I started keeping a hand written log book but it is too much of a task to trawl through all the information to find any common points.

I am not sure if Tap forms is suitable for this so I don’t want to purchase it until I’m sure.

If anyone can help me I’ll be very grateful and once it’s up and running I’d like to share it.

    Regards

    Hi Mark,

Tap Forms is perfectly suitable for keeping a logbook like the one you describe. You may need to break it up into different forms though to keep track of all the different bits of information you need. You can also use a Link to Form field in your forms to link one form to another to establish relationships between your records. For example, a Daily Medical Journal form that links to a separate Exercises form where for a given day you keep track of one or more exercises you did that day. And depending on how detailed you want to get, you may want a separate form that contains a list of the medications that you take and then a many-to-many relationship between your Journal form to the Medications form so you can tick off which medications you took that day. Although you can also achieve a similar thing with Pick Lists. But it depends on how detailed you need to be with your medication logs.

The bottom line is everything you described, Tap Forms is perfectly capable of doing. You just have to build the forms to do it. But since you’ve created paper journals, you already know what information you need to track. And it’s very easy to build forms in Tap Forms just by adding a field, typing out the name of the field and selecting a field type.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

Thank you Brendan for taking the time to reply.

I’m relieved that Tap Forms can do what I need, I thought it would be able to but needed to be sure.

With a little luck and lots of data input I should be able to find the correlation between my condition and my lifestyle. Every little helps.

I expect I need to enter each item as a form as you suggest them make the link.

Thanks again and hopefully if it proves successful I’ll share it.

    Regards

I uploaded a Blood Pressure Log document/form that might make a useful starting point for you.

You can find it in the Tap Forms Template Exchange at:

    Blood Pressure Log

    Hope it’s of use.
