BrendanKeymasterFor a Number field, you can now set the Input Control for that on the Field Options screen on the iOS version.

RonlangaraParticipantWow! Thanks for finally adding this. A great and long requested addition. Changing a number of forms to use it already. A great time saver.
Keep up the good work.

MarcusParticipantQuestion for the stepper:
I’ve a number field (decimal value with 2 decimal places)
It seems to be not possible to increase or decrease the value in the decimal range with a stepper,
only with integers.
(The value for “Increment Amount” cannot be changed to anything else except an integer)Should that be so ?

BrendanKeymasterHi Marcus,
I’ll work on an enhancement for this. It should be possible, but I am currently having some troubles getting the increment amount value to stick. It’s having alright, but when it’s loaded in when the document is opened, it’s empty, even though it’s still in the database. Not sure what’s going on with it.
Thanks,
Brendan

BrendanKeymasterI finally managed to fix this bug today. And it does support decimals now. You do have to have the Number Format set to a format that support decimals, such as Decimal or Currency and set the Decimal Places property.

MarcusParticipantSounds good.
I look forward to the update and will report here. Thanks Brendan, as always 😉

MarcusParticipantHi Brendan,
I’ve just installed 5.3.23 (1067) for iOS.
Unfortunately the stepper still behaves as before. The field is set as Decimal Style, 2 Decimal Places.
The Increment Amount allows me only to enter a integer value.
When I enter 0,1 it switches to 0 when I save it.February 15, 2022 at 8:40 PM #46755
BrendanKeymasterHmm… although it shouldn’t matter, maybe it’s an issue with using a comma for the decimal point. I just tested it and it’s working as it should. Did Tap Forms remember the Increment Amount setting even after you closed and re-opened the document?
February 16, 2022 at 2:04 AM #46763
MarcusParticipantIt is the comma.
Just switched the region and keyboard to US for testing.
It allows me to set 0.1 for example.
When I switch back to German and use the comma (0,1) it doesn’t remember the Increment Amount.- This reply was modified 2 years, 2 months ago by Marcus.

BrendanKeymasterOk thanks for that extra info. I’ll have to dig into that. The Number field entry screen should respect the commas as decimal points, but obviously it’s not in this case.

MarcusParticipantBrendan, sorry so say that, but this bug seems to be larger than expected.
Since I switched the region on my iPhone from Germany to US and back to Germany EVERY
numeric field with decimal values aren’t saved any longer.I enter a value, eg 1,23 (COMMA !), save it.
This value seems to be saved at first glance (closed and re-opened the table and field).
When I close and re-open Tapforms again this value is set to 0,00 !
This also happens by entering a value without a decimal place.I also noticed that some text is no longer translated, eg:
Delete photo (it’s in German)
Delete All Photos (it’s in English)This all happend after switching between the regions.
I turned off and on again the iPhone without success. In short words: I can no longer use it for my purposes.

MarcusParticipantUpdate:
Switched back from German to US with the hope
to be able to enter decimal values again failed.
The values weren’t saved.
Switched back to German and it works again.Magic…but the behavior indicates a bug with dot and decimal.

BrendanKeymasterHi Marcus,
Yes, I have to look into this. Sorry for this issue.
February 19, 2022 at 9:46 AM #46789
MarcusParticipantNo rush, Brendan.
For now it works for me.February 26, 2022 at 4:40 AM #46882
MarcusParticipantBrendan, do you want me to send you a .tfarc file to reproduce ?
February 27, 2022 at 1:01 AM #46889
BrendanKeymasterNo, I don’t need a .tfarc file. I can reproduce the issue. I just haven’t had a chance to dig into it again yet.
