I recently acquired a new MBP. Got TFs set up on it no problem. Reformatted my old MBP, installed El Capital and then TF from the App Store. After setting it up to sync via Dropbox, synced and all the records came across but most fields were empty. Many records had NO populated fields. Anyone have any ideas? I don’t have DropBox on the reformatted MBP – am installing it soon and retrying to see if that might be it. In the meantime, would welcome input. Thanks

    Hi Okie,

Do you have a backup of the original Tap Forms data from your old MBP that you could restore to? Dropbox sync isn’t really a backup system.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

    Thanks, Brendan.

I was successful at getting my new MBP (MBP2) set up and had been syncing it to my iphone via dropbox for months. I just now got around to setting up my old MBP (MBP1) for use in my garage. I assumed it would populate the database by syncing in a similar manner. It did capture every record, but did NOT fully populate the records (multiple missing fields).

Are you suggesting I use the most recent back up from MBP2, copy to to MBP1 and then sync between the 3 devices? (That is my desire – to be able to share the DB between the three devices).

    Thanks.

    Hi Okie,

Yes, I would recommend making a backup on your MBP2, then restore that backup to your MBP1. Then follow the Reset Sync procedure in the online user manual. Then you should be good to go to sync again.

    Thanks,

    Brendan
